It has taken years of practice to confidently freehand cut letters into some of the toughest and hardest woods in the world.
To hold a two horsepower router steady for this task is no mean feat. There will always be some movement when operating freehand. I have developed a style or font that is unique. The demand for my signs is largly due to the appeal of their rustic design and finish .
That "they just look natural and hand made" is the usual complement in this mechanised world of ours. I use recycled material so there are sometimes old nailholes and this adds to the overall weathered look.

TAKE THESE STEPS TO DESIGN/COST YOUR PERSONAL SIGN
Count the letters (or numbers) you require. The first five letters are $30 and each additional letter will cost you $3 . For example "MY HOME" is $30 for MYHOM and $3 for the E --- Total $33 . Letters are about 100mm though many letters have a "tail" that exceed this (see examples).
Choose the colour of the letters. I think black and cream are the best colors -- certainly the most popular. Other colors can of course be chosen.
Lastly choose the edging:
1) STANDARD -- Straight sides with rounded or straight ends. I use raw material about 120mm in width. Length is determined by the number of letters used.
2) NOTCHED END WITH SURROUND-- As seen in "stud bar" . add $15 to overall cost.
