Here at LARRIKIN we have been making our unique furniture for over 20 years. During that time we have upgraded our design to constantly improve the practicality and durability of our product to the highest of standards.
Unless specifically requested the timbers we use are all from Australian Native Species . Our suppliers cut only legally sourced trees. These are usually dead or fallen or from clearing for such things as power lines, roadworks, or building development.
As wood dries it naturally shrinks as it's moisture is released To ensure that no problems arise "down the track" we only source from reliable suppliers. We will not use raw material that fails to pass a moisture meter test. The timber must be Kiln Dried or Air Dried to an acceptable level. In the bases of our dining tables we generally incorporate recycled hardwood. Most of what we make use of would probably end up burned or in landfill - what a waste!
